Economy in M.R.D.S. is a fairly simple system, but is organized and efficient. As currency, we use golden tokens called “gula pua,” which means “golden flower” in Hawaiian. Paper cash and credit cards are also used. Items such as prestigious awards and vehicles are considered valuable in domestic standards, since they convey exceeding leadership/knowledge/etc. However, things such as natural resources are essential to our economy because they open up discussion for trade. To elaborate, trade with other cultures/societies happens through business meetings and negotiations. Everyday trade happens anywhere that people buy things.
People display their wealth, through the clothes they wear, and the mode of transportation they utilize (go to clothing and transportation for more information). In addition, people are considered successful, if they have high positions in government, religion, or business (ex. CEO of company, political leader, priest, etc.) In conclusion, our economy plays a key role in the development of our culture.
